Senator Jesse Ulibarri (D-Commerce City) and Senator Mark Scheffel (R-Parker) recently introduced Senate Bill 220 into the Colorado Senate. While the bill’s stated intention is to spur the construction of condominiums in Colorado, it eviscerates all consumer protections for homeowners living in HOAs. If this bill makes it through the legislative process and is signed into law, it will guarantee shoddy construction and ensure that homeowners living in HOAs have no recourse against builders for their defective construction.

A hearing in the State, Veterans & Military Affairs Committee is slated for Monday, May 5 at 1:30 pm. If you are a homeowner and are concerned about having your property rights and consumer rights ratcheted away yet again, please attend the Committee hearing at the State Capitol and tell the Senators how you feel.
